RashidBot 1.0
The intention of this bot is to help train your focus against frustration and help the player to develop character-specific concepts of the Rashid matchup. This may require the player to understand and apply some bot design theory, but only a small amount of it. If you are not familiar with our bots and how they work, we strongly suggest becoming very familiar with JamieBot or RyuBot instead before trying to use RashidBot.
RashidBot is not focused on any specific Rashid player style that we have seen in our research. Instead, it is intended to take a different approach of allowing the player to work out their character’s best options against Rashid due to his new playstyle design in Street Fighter 6, and to adapt some of their old reactions to him if they have fought him in Street Fighter V. The Rashid CPU is generally less effective than the bot in our experience, even when the bot is not input perfectly, since the CPU relies more on prediction and does not have the amount of ‘tricky randomness’ required. The bot is easy to input, but if you find that you do have difficulty with a particular input, you will probably need to re-record that input every time you start the bot, either for ‘variety in his rhythm’, or ‘until it does something perfectly’. There are also some Actions that can be varied slightly based on your player or character style, and those Actions may require some understanding of bot design theory.
Explaining this bot in general is not very possible, because Rashid can take a different approach against every opposing character. His large selection of options causes him to be very different based on how you interact with him, and the bot has the same tendency to change based on how you interact with it.
Gauge Settings
As with all bots Vitality Gauge P1 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. Drive Gauge P1 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. SA Gauge P1 should be set to “0”, and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”.
Vitality Gauge P2 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Refill”. Drive Gauge P2 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Standard”, but it can also be set to “Refill” with the sub-setting changed to “30F” (if you do not understand what this setting does, or how to use it, set it to “Standard” or test it until you feel like you understand). SA Gauge P2 can be set to any value, and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P2 can probably be set to any setting, but if he uses his Super Arts too much, set it to “Standard”.
These settings may change based on your goals, explained in the Difficulty section below.
Goals
Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying.
Points System
- A - AntiAir or dash under Rashid when he jumps, for this ‘dash under’ point to count, you must end up on the other side, just reacting with the dash is not considered enough
- B - After you block one of Rashid’s closer range special moves and you do not think you can punish, back jump and use your aerial normal attack with the longest range to hit him if he pursues you, you only get the point if this attack hits (you might get a point if you land and then get to AntiAir because he jumped)
- C - After you block one of Rashid’s closer range normal attacks (even his Light Punch), backdash away from any of his followups, and count the point even if he successfully chases and hits you, or if you don’t get any advantage or punish from this
- D - When you are in a situation where Rashid has you ‘cornered’ (the bot uses Drive Impact suddenly, has literally pushed you to the corner, or the bot happens to do a tricky setup that can’t be solved by any of the other three responses) use your Drive Reversal to knock him back and get space
Additional Focus - Depending on your character, it is important to sometimes use long reaching attacks to stop Rashid from getting started, if he has ‘setups’ or ‘tricks’ against your character to avoid playing the ‘Neutral’ game by using Arabian Cyclone or other tools like this. We gave the bot a long Drive Parry animation to help you notice when you are doing this ‘too often’. If you never have a reason to do this on any of your characters, consider changing his Action #8 to something that suits your needs more.
Difficulty Levels
- Easy - Points given for ABCD
- Medium - Points given for ACD only or BCD only (choose whichever is harder for your character to do)
- Hard - Points given for B and C only, but continue to count points for A if you did the antiair after B
- Extreme - Points given for B and D only, continue to count points for A if you did the antiair after B
