LilyBot 1.0
LilyBot is an intermediate difficulty bot for most characters, though a few characters may experience her as an ‘advanced’ difficulty depending on their anti-air options. The bot’s focus is on escaping Lily’s setups while countering her more obvious approaches whenever possible. Due to the design of the character, it can be difficult to recognize when the player should try to challenge her approach options, or when the player should try to escape. LilyBot aims to aid players in learning to recognize these situations. LilyBot should not cause you to develop bad habits in this matchup for most of the characters you choose to play against her, but if we encounter issues (reported from anyone) we will update the page with any notes.
This bot is relatively easy to understand but quite difficult to input perfectly because of the speed requirements of her Actions. Without the correct speed, the bot will usually still work, but will be much more predictable, and therefore less effective. We do not recommend this bot as a ‘starter experience’ for entering bots, even for players who are experienced with the game overall, unless they have experience playing Lily or Zangief (or similar characters in other games).
This bot does not generally require many ‘FirstFrame’ inputs, and the required one is otherwise simple enough that just ‘retrying’ to get it right on the first frame may be less stressful than trying to use the new FirstFrame input method that SF6 uses for Actions, but the new method is detailed below, for your convenience.
First select the ‘Record On Input’ option at the bottom of the Input Recording menu. Then set whatever input you need to enter at the start of the recording on a button that does not interact with the training menu in your control settings. This will allow you to hold the button before hitting your confirmation button (X on the PlayStation version) on the recording slot you want to input to begin recording. This will cause the bot to automatically accept the button you were holding during the menu screen even though you have set it to ‘On Input’. This is because the game is reading the input as soon as it can. There is enough transition time between the menu being cleared from the screen and the recording starting, however, that you can add in a directional input fairly easily. This is still more difficult than the old version because any inputs that need to quickly follow this will feel like they need to be done ‘on reaction’ to the recording start.
Gauge Settings
As with all bots Vitality Gauge P1 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. Drive Gauge P1 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. SA Gauge P1 should be set to “2” (or “3” if you need it for your combo practice), and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”.
Vitality Gauge P2 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Refill”. Drive Gauge P2 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Refill” using the option for ‘20F’. SA Gauge P2 should be set to “0”, and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Standard”.
These settings may change based on your goals, explained in the Difficulty section below.
Goals
Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying.
Points System
- A - Use a Neutral Jumping attack to hit Lily’s approach and perform a full combo
- B - Punish her advancing Condor Spire when she does not have WindClad property, and otherwise attempt to escape if you blocked it (See Point System C for how to actually get points from the escape, escaping alone does not grant any point)
- C - Escape Lily’s throw or command grab, either by Throw Teching, Neutral Jumping, or Backdashing, when she is close enough for the throw to work (this is a prediction usually)
- D - AntiAirs (including Air-to-Airs and Air Throws)
Difficulty Levels
- Easy - Points given for ABCD
- Medium - Points given for ACD only (grapplers and characters without Neutral Jumping attacks that easily hit both sides) or BCD only (characters without command input throws, or who have powerful Neutral Jumping attacks that hit both sides of them, e.g. Juri or Chun-Li j.HK)
- Hard - Points given for BCD only, Point System C requires a Whiff Punish if backdash was chosen
- Extreme - Points given for C and D only, no points given for Air-to-Airs OR no points given for grounded AntiAirs (choose whatever is harder for your character)
