KenBot 1.0
KenBot is a beginner level bot designed to get you used to some of the basics of SF6. Because he is a beginner level bot, he is not designed to train you on the specifics of the Ken match up, although he may seem familiar because he uses tactics common at lower skill levels of play. KenBot’s main purpose is to help you get used to the various Drive Gauge systems in the game. KenBot is a particularly useful training partner for learning how to deal with various options in the corner while maintaining a level of focus on the player’s mental stack.
The main tool this bot is lacking is Ken’s Hadoken at longer ranges. We found the use of the fireball to be too easy to react to in testing when put in the bot. Because of the reflexive nature of the game’s neutral and players access to tools that help bypass certain forms of neutral, we have come to the conclusion that on Ken, it is better for a player to get experience from the CPU and live opponents if they wish to gain more experience on Ken’s projectile options. Additionally KenBot’s jump is slightly less effective than it could be. This is to reduce the difficulty level on new players, as the bot is designed with new players learning defense and anti-airs in mind. We plan on releasing a variant of this bot in the future that improves this aspect of the bot for more experienced players.
Because it is a bot focused on Drive Gauge mechanics and defense, it is recommended that you set the Bot’s Drive Gauge recovery to Refill and the Time Until Recovery from 35-50F. This is to help prevent certain levels of ‘spamming’ of his Drive Gauge moves, while still allowing him to gain access to his reversal options more often than if he were left on Standard.
Gauge Settings
As with all bots Vitality Gauge P1 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. Drive Gauge P1 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P1 should be set to “Standard”. SA Gauge P1 should be set to “0”, and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Standard”.
Vitality Gauge P2 should be set to “100%”, and Vitality Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Refill”. Drive Gauge P2 should be set to “6”, and Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “40” (Access this option by pressing the appropriate button -Triangle on Playstation- when on the Drive Gauge Recovery Settings P2 ‘Refill’ option). SA Gauge P2 should be set to “0”, and SA Gauge Recovery Settings P2 should be set to “Standard”.
