LeonaBot v1.0

Difficulty Moderate

Focus Accuracy and Maintaining Spacing

LeonaBot is part of a group of three bots that use the same inputs, under the Codename "Crimson Sky". Any other bot with their own version of the preceding sentence, can be used/switched to, after entering this one set of Action Inputs. Technically, Crimson Sky and Snow Angel only differ in Actions #1 and #2, so it is easy to switch between them. The three bots have unique point systems, purposes, and settings, so be sure to check other pages for that information. This bot works for Leona, Heidern, and Ash.

Leona can be played as a 'zoner' character with many strong options for covering a lot of space, but she is also very mobile, which is good for helping you to sharpen your accuracy and learn how to maintain your offensive spacing. It is better to be somewhat aggressive when fighting this bot, because it is not designed to perform well if the player only tries to defend. Many of her moves are variable in how disadvantaged they are when blocked. Against a skilled Leona player, spending too much time defending could cause you to have a lot of difficulty with getting enough damage on her to close out the fight. If you try to maintain spacing and punish her moves more often, the Bot will begin to use more of Leona's offense options.

Bots in KoF are able to be saved by activating the game's "Autosave" function. However, you can only save 1 bot at a time. Therefore, we have checked all characters using the inputs used to determine which of them can be useful, resulting in the codename "Crimson Sky" when we confirmed the effectiveness of the three intended characters. These have been given separate, specific pages, when we consider the result to be good enough to act as a functional bot for that character, but there are a few more where we didn't think that the bot reached that level, but a player could still get some use out of going a few rounds with that character with just these 'Crimson Sky' inputs. A full list of characters and related things can be found in the 'In Depth' section at the bottom of this page.

Gauge Settings

As with all bots, 1P Health should be set to "Normal", set 1P Power Gauge to "3"

These settings may change based on your goals, explained in the Difficulty section below.

Settings for 2P are Health - "Auto-Recover" and Power Gauge - "5".

Goals

Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying.

Points System

Difficulty Levels

Action #1

FirstFrame 4 (briefly, this is the start of a charge move), 4HP+HK, immediately 1, end recording before the blowback attack fully animates

This input, when replayed, should show as being between 36 and 43 frames long. It is difficult to explain exactly how to get it 'right', but testing it with Action #3 should cause Leona to sometimes do her rushing slash if it is done correctly. There is not usually much need to worry about whether or not the HP+HK was held until the end of the recording for Leona. If you held it, there will be some slight differences in behaviour (for Heidern and Ash it increases their projectile usage if it is not held and the timing is lower than 40f), but usually, it will not matter. Make sure to be holding 1 at the end of the recording.

Action #2

9HP, 214 end recording instantly

This input is very short (for us, 17 frames consistently). It is an 'Edge Shift' that causes her to do some other moves, but it is NOT intended to cause her to do her X-Calibur (aerial special down slash). If you consider that move to be important to train against, currently the only way to get access to it is to change Action #1 to FirstFrame 4HP+HK, which will make the bot less evasive on the ground. We do not recommend this. See Action #4 instead for another option.

Action #3

FirstFrame 6LP+LK+HK(hold all three through end), 96321 end recording.

This action is almost impossible to test correctly, even using other inputs. Just do the best you can and make sure when it repeats by itself, that she does not continually attack, just continually jumps without attacking after the first forward roll.

Action #4

First Frame 4LK+HK, 6 end recording

This input should just do her overhead kick. There is nothing particularly special about it, and it does not really offer any options for testing it. You may be able to get some interesting behaviours if you change the first input to 4LK+HP (it will allow her to use H version of X-Calibur, and to activate Max Mode), but as of this writing, that is entirely experimental, and changing it affects only Leona positively, of the Crimson Sky bot group (while also meaning that you must change it back if going back to Snow Angel).

Action #5

FirstFrame 1LK+HK hidden [1/2LP 1/4HP], end recording

When done correctly she should mostly do her sweep (2HK),but occasionally do her punches. This input doesn't need to be too perfect in order to work for any of the Crimson Sky bots. It is generally okay if you end up plinking the LP and HP together and if your first frame is a 2LK+HK instead of a 1 if it is easier to do the rest of the input that way.

In-Depth

In addition to acting as the inputs for LeonaBot 1.0, HeidernBot 1.0, and AshBot 1.0, the 'Crimson Sky' bot inputs also function somewhat reasonably with Meitenkun (experience with a limited subset of his abilities can be gained).
