ChrisBot v1.0

Difficulty Moderate

Focus Offense and Accuracy

ChrisBot is part of a large group of bots that use the same inputs, under the Codename "Snow Angel". Any other bot with their own version of the preceding sentence, can be used/switched to, after entering this one set of Action Inputs. Those bots have unique point systems, purposes, and settings, so be sure to check other pages for that information. This bot works for Angel, Kula, Yashiro, Shermie, and Chris.

Chris is a character that has the freedom and move set to move quite often. Because he has moves with quite a lot of reach and the ability to continuously change his movements, ChrisBot has the ability to challenge your ability to punish him after block and keep spacing relatively in his favor. He is a difficult charcter to get in on and stay in on, but if you learn how to maintain closer spacing against Chris you have more opportunities to threaten his control of offense. Because the character has such strong options for offense that are related to controling spacing ChrisBot becomes strong at strong at challenging your own offense and therefore ChrisBot makes a good bot for training how to adapt your offense and learning to be flexible enough to take small opportunites to keep your offense from getting overwhelmed.

When training with this bot it can be tempting to punish some of his specials with your longer moves. This is a crutch in the long term for most characters, so try to figure out how to get closer and use your shorter-ranged attacks for punishes. Instead try learning how to properly dash block and roll block in ways that leave you at advantage. In fact it can be helpful to learn how to roll into his attacks earlier and block. He won't always let you do this so learning when you can and cannot do this will help you in the long term.

While it is not a point to anti-air ChrisBot, attempting to anti-air ChrisBot whenever he does a jump in is still a very useful exercise for training and is recommended to do so to get the fullest use out of this bot. Some of Chris's specials can look like a jump in so learning how to distinguish between those and his actual jump ins can be of great help in learning the match up.

Bots in KoF are able to be saved by activating the game's "Autosave" function. However, you can only save 1 bot at a time. Therefore, we have checked all characters using the inputs used to determine which of them can be useful, resulting in the codename "Snow Angel" due to the two most explicitly effective characters. These have been given separate, specific pages, when we consider the result to be good enough to act as a functional bot for that character, but there are a few more where we didn't think that the bot reached that level, but a player could still get some use out of going a few rounds with that character with just these 'Snow Angel' inputs. A full list of characters and related things can be found in the 'In Depth' section at the bottom of this page.

Gauge Settings

As with all bots, 1P Health should be set to "Normal", set 1P Power Gauge to "1"

These settings may change based on your goals, explained in the Difficulty section below.

Settings for 2P are Health - "Auto-Recover" and Power Gauge - "5".

Goals

Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying. Note that if you don't see the word Punish show up on your side of the screen when you perform a punish for points A, B and D you did not perform the punish correctly.

In-Depth

In addition to acting as the inputs for KulaBot 1.0, AngelBot 1.0, ChrisBot 1.0, YashiroBot 1.0, and ShermieBot 1.0, the 'Snow Angel' bot inputs also function somewhat reasonably with Dinosaur (some slight experience can be gained), Ramon (experience with a limited subset of his abilities can be gained), and Joe Higashi (Most useful for practicing punishes similar to 'Big Fire' (KyoBot) without going to the effort of changing the bot back to that one.
