AngelBot v1.0
Difficulty Moderate
Focus Dash Spacing and Throws
AngelBot is part of a large group of bots that use the same inputs, under the Codename "Snow Angel". Any other bot with their own version of the preceding sentence, can be used/switched to, after entering this one set of Action Inputs. Those bots have unique point systems, purposes, and settings, so be sure to check other pages for that information. This bot works for Angel, Kula, Yashiro, Shermie, and Chris.
In KOF learning how to stick close to an oppressive enemy can lead to much better offense and damage output. AngelBot is meant to help show players new to KOF that a good defense is key to achieving good offense. Angel is notorious for her great pressure and fantastic close quarters buttons allowing her to constantly maintain a strong pressure up close while having many tools that let her control the spacing between herself and her opponent. So getting in and staying in can be quite a challenge. To help the player learn how to use their various mobility options for offense while maintaining their defenses, the player is tasked with sticking close while keeping their combos clean. This will also help players new to KOF get used to learning how to time the end of their running so they can throw. If a player is running while in throw range it will use the character's close heavy normal instead making it a headache for players not expecting it and possibly leading to them being punished for it.
Bots in KoF are able to be saved by activating the game's "Autosave" function. However, you can only save 1 bot at a time. Therefore, we have checked all characters using the inputs used to determine which of them can be useful, resulting in the codename "Snow Angel" due to the two most explicitly effective characters. These have been given separate, specific pages, when we consider the result to be good enough to act as a functional bot for that character, but there are a few more where we didn't think that the bot reached that level, but a player could still get some use out of going a few rounds with that character with just these 'Snow Angel' inputs. A full list of characters and related things can be found in the 'In Depth' section at the bottom of this page.
Gauge Settings
As with all bots, 1P Health should be set to "Normal", set 1P Power Gauge to "1"
These settings may change based on your goals, explained in the Difficulty section below.
Settings for 2P are Health - "Auto-Recover" and Power Gauge - "5".
Goals
Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying.
Points System
- A - Dash up and throw Angel from neutral (does not count if done as a punish after block)
- B - Dash up or roll and then use a crouching low to start a combo that causes a knockdown on the opponent. (If your character does not have a crouching low but has a standing low, use that instead.)
- C - Throw Angel out of her Roll.
- D - Anti-air Angel's jumps and hops.
Variants
- To train Meter Awareness, change 1P Power Gauge to '2', points are gained for using the correct punish based on available meter (no points gained for punishes that use no power gauge).
Difficulty Levels
- Easy - Points given for ABCD, dashing into throw after a knockdown for point A counts.
- Medium - Points given for ABCD, but all throws for Point System A must be dashes during neutral or as a wiff punish.
- Hard - Points given for BCD only
- Extreme - Points given for C and D only (if you normally play defensively) or B and D only (if you normally play offensively.)

Recording Notes
- Players should note that if you hold buttons or directions before starting input they will instantly occur once you start recording. This makes it easier to get frame 1 (FirstFrame) inputs compared to most other games. Additionally you can use the Options button to end recording just like other games, as well as the 'record' button. Use whichever is easiest for you, but note that we are still investigating if there is some input loss when using the Options button, and if you encounter problems, try using just the 'Record' button to end the recordings.
Action #1
FirstFrame 6HP+HK(hold the HP+HK until end) 3214 end recording instantly
When done correctly the bot should hit HP+HK once and then do nothing else but wiggle vaguely forward. This is a short input so it shouldn't be much longer than 20-25 frames.
Action #2
FirstFrame 3LK+HK, 236HP end recording instantly
This should be entered very quickly or it causes choppiness in the bot's flow. When done correctly it should be able to do her 3LK when combined with Action #1.
Action #3
FirstFrame 6LP+LK+HK(hold all three through end), 96321 end recording.
This action is almost impossible to test correctly, even using other inputs. Just do the best you can and make sure when it repeats by itself, that she does not continually attack, just continually jumps without attacking after the first forward roll.
Action #4
First Frame 4LK+HK, 6 end recording
Do not hold the LK+HK. When played into 4 it should do Shadow Beheaded (back forward HK). It is also possible that it does Red Sky depending how the inputs were entered.
Action #5
FirstFrame 1LK+HK hidden [1/2LP 1/4HP], end recording
When done correctly she should mostly do her sweep (2HK),but occasionally do her punches. This input doesn't need to be too perfect in order to work for Angel. It is generally okay if you end up plinking the LP and HP together and if your first frame is a 2LK+HK instead of a 1 if it is easier to do the rest of the input that way. However it does weaken the bot's defense for other versions of the bot, so if you can get this input done as written it's better to do so. Otherwise, reference the page for whichever bot you consider most important (or started with before being told to review this page) for the optimal inputs, this is the one that 'changes' the most.
In-Depth
In addition to acting as the inputs for KulaBot 1.0, AngelBot 1.0, ChrisBot 1.0, YashiroBot 1.0, and ShermieBot 1.0, the 'Snow Angel' bot inputs also function somewhat reasonably with Dinosaur (some slight experience can be gained), Ramon (experience with a limited subset of his abilities can be gained), and Joe Higashi (Most useful for practicing punishes similar to 'Big Fire' (KyoBot) without going to the effort of changing the bot back to that one.
