BirdieBot v1.0

Difficulty Easy

Focus Putting It All Together

BirdieBot is now and forever the 'final exam' to graduate from Easy level bots. This is because of the design of the character and the particular skill that it requires. It is also one of the easiest bots to input if you have bot input techniques 'down', as it uses the complex ones but uses very little high speed inputs, requiring only the understanding and focus for the techniques. This bot should be used by players who feel that they are comfortable with most parts of their game already with their character, or those who want to figure out which part of their game is weakest so that they can focus their efforts on another bot. It is good for training focus because of the number of things it forces the player to concentrate on. Having good defense and Armored moves which also change in V-Trigger, BirdieBot is intended to keep the player alert.

Successful play against this bot is about focus. Keeping all of Birdie's options in mind is difficult, and the particular way that the moves flow into each other means that this bot has the least predictability of all Easy level bots. Different characters will find it easier or harder to get points in specific ways, and therefore the Point Systems are not the usual 'reduction of which ones give points', moreso modifications. The player should get the maximum benefit by looking for creative ways to set up positive situations for themselves through spacing and the moves they use.

Gauge Settings

As with all bots, 1P Health should be set to "Normal". 1P CA Gauge should be set to "Normal", and 1P V-Gauge also set to "Normal".

Settings for 2P are Health - "Auto-Recover", V-Gauge - "Auto-Recover", CA Gauge - "Auto-Recover".

Goals

Completing each action gives 1 point. Try to get to 10 points without dying, and before Birdie gets to 10 points.

Points System

Difficulty Levels

Action #1

61234LK, hidden [2HP+HK], end recording.

The exact timing is lenient, try to end the recording before Birdie slams the opponent down the second time, but there is no need to rush to be faster than that.

Action #2

5LP+LK (hold for the entire recording even while ending), hidden [236HP], 5MP 5MP 236 end recording immediately.

Doing the 236 motions smoothly/quickly will allow Birdie the option to do his Critical Art when this action replays into itself. This is not vital. The one at the end (edge-shifted) is more important than the first. The two 5MP inputs do not need to be timed very quickly so one can focus on the final 236 end. It is suggested that one sets L1 or L2 on a PS4 controller to the LP+LK for this.

Action #3

6PPP, 963214, instantly end recording.

The harder part of this input for most people is actually hitting the 6 direction and the PPP button (set a button to PPP) on the same input frame at the start of a recording. This is not vital but since this recording is otherwise easy, it is relatively worth it to try, or retry later if the bot feels too easy.

Action #4

1MP+MK, 1HP, 236LK (hold) end recording quickly but with LK held.

We suggest setting L1 or L2 on a PS4 controller to LK for this recording. The longer the player takes to end the recording after pressing LK, the more predictable and less dangerous Hanging Chain becomes when the bot uses it.

Action #5

6KKK (hold for some time but not until end of recording), 963214 end recording.

The harder part of this input for most people is actually hitting the 6 direction and the KKK button (set a button to KKK) on the same input frame at the start of a recording. This is not vital but since this recording is otherwise easy, it is relatively worth it to try, or retry later if the bot feels too easy. The duration of time spent holding KKK button is about the same time it takes to do the directional motions part, so players can end recording when they release this button.
